Standard

Can I share with you the secret to AMAZING skin?

Its a realllllly good one!

Frankincense and Patchouli

The Perfect Pair: Frankincense & Patchouli

There it is! Frankincense and Patchouli essential oils.

A while back I watched a video posted in Jim Bob Haggerton’s Facebook group (Essential Oil Club). The video was of Melissa Poepping- a rockstar lady that is taking on her dreams by storm. She shared with the E.O.C. her daily skin regimen. It consisted of Young Living personal care products as well as DIYs! I managed to get all the products I needed for this routine on my essential rewards. (Not on essential rewards yet? Go here.)

I will be posting a video in the future of the whole shebang (in the near future!), but for now just believe me in this: it is INCREDIBLE. The best. Ever. Hands down. I literally feel like I’m getting a spa-quality facial every time I wash my face.

Part of the magic of the routine includes these two gems- Frankincense and Patchouli! After cleansing your face, doing the serum and hot washcloth combo, its time to wipe n’ pat Frank & Patchouli all over your face- diluted in a little cool water. It smells and feels sooo nice on your skin. Cooling, and peaceful from the heavenly smells of the oils! Take the time to inhale and appreciate; get the full benefits.

Which Eucalyptus Should You Use?

Standard

Eucalyptus is well-known for its uplifting, invigorating scent.  It is often used in spas to refresh and revitalize the body through inhalation, and to support respiratory wellness. Australian Aborigines knew the benefits of using Eucalyptus and used the leaves of the plant to soothe physical and emotional discomfort. (Bonus! Try using Eucalyptus on sore muscles post-gym.) If you’ve looked for Eucalyptus in your Young Living Virtual Office or in the Product Catalog, you may have been surprised to learn there are more than one kind of Eucalyptus! In fact, there are over 700 different species of Eucalyptus.

Young Living features three- Eucalyptus Blue, Eucalyptus Globulus, and Eucalyptus Radiata. Which one should you use? Let’s discuss!

 Eucalyptus Blue – Eucalyptus bicostata

Eucalyptus Blue

Eucalyptus Blue

Grown and distilled on Young Living’s farm in Ecuador, Eucalyptus Blue has well-balanced chemical constituents that make this species great for respiratory support. (Look at the ingredients in chest rub!) The native people of Ecuador use the disinfecting leaves of the plant to cover their wounds and keep bugs away. Because of its high Eucalyptol percentage, Eucalyptus Blue has a calming and invigorating effect when inhaled.

Try adding a few drops to your diffuser for a refreshing and relaxing experience, or inhale straight from the bottle for a quick pick-me-up.

Eucalyptus Globulus – Eucalyptus globulus

Eucalyptus Globulus

Eucalyptus Globulus

This species has a more earthy aroma than its counterparts. Young Living’s Eucalyptus Globulus is grown in China and also contains a high percentage of eucalyptol. (FYI- eucalyptol has long been used as an antimicrobial agent. A quick internet search will give you more information on this!) Eucalyptus Globulus is a great air purifier if you’re trying to stay above the wellness line during winter months. Its cleansing properties make it perfect to use in certain skincare products, too. Eucalyptus Globulus is one of the oils in Young Living’s  R.C. blend.

I love to add Eucalyptus Globulus to my diffuser when I’m feeling a little under the weather. It definitely helps me feel like getting above my wellness line!

Eucalyptus Radiata – Eucalyptus radiata

Eucalyptus Radiata

Grown in Australia, Eucalyptus Radiata is a must-have for your self-care routine. It soothes muscles, and is the perfect oil for a quick post-workout massage. Its cool, fresh aroma is also perfect for post-workout routines. Whenever I diffuse Eucalyptus Radiata, it gives me a sense of wellbeing and I feel like I’ve spent a day at the spa. Eucalyptus Radiata is one of the oils in Young Living’s R.C. blend.

Eucalyptus Radiata is considered the most “mild” of the three, and is often preferred by oilers for their kiddos. However, be especially cautious around infants. Always dilute and follow safety guidelines! Consult with your trusted healthcare professional if you have any questions about using your oils on your children and infants.

How Many Drops Per Bottle?

Standard

How Many Drops?

Two of the questions I get asked a lot: How many drops will I get out of my bottles? How long will the bottles last?

The answer to the former question is easy: One 15ml bottle contains an average of 250 drops of essential oil. Start off with one drop, and you will find that one drop is often all that you need. So, 250 drops really is a lot! The 5ml bottles have around 75-80 drops of oil.

The latter question is more complicated, and there really is no answer! Depending on what you are using the individual oils for will determine how long they will last you. Using Lavender every night means that you will use that oil more quickly than something like DiGize that you are “saving for tummy troubles.” (Which- bonus tip- have you tried diffusing DiGize? Not just for “bad bellies” anymore!)

Price Per Drop

If you’re like me, you will want to know the price per drop of all your oils. Once you join the Oiling in New England Team, I will share with you this document- yes, I went through and priced out all the Young Living oils! (If you can handle basic math and a spreadsheet, this is an easy task.) I was shocked to find what an incredible deal they are. Because they are so concentrated, essential oils are a great value, especially when you stick to the “start-with-one-drop” rule. You can rest assured that not only are essential oils a great value for your health and wellness, but they are also an amazing value for your wallet and budget!

How Do You Use Your Bottles?

I use three drops of Lavender in my diffuser each night. Since there are 250 drops in each bottle, one 15ml bottle of Lavender will last me about 83 days, if this were the only way I was using it! EIGHTY THREE DAYS. That’s a pretty darn good deal, if you ask me. I use my Lavender for a million other things, but I do have a designated “bedroom bottle” that will be lasting me this long. Check out these other uses, shared by Young Living:
