What is Seed to Seal?
Young Living is truly unlike any other essential oil company. Our essential oils are the highest quality on the market. Young Living guarantees these high standards of quality, purity, and potency with their Seed to Seal promise.
How does this process set Young Living apart from other essential oil companies? Let’s take a look:

As Young Living members, we have the amazing opportunity to visit the Young Living farms. Yes, we can actually go tour the fields and witness the distillation process on the farm! Can you do that with the companies selling oils on Amazon? Hint: You can’t.
Seeds are tested to make sure they are free from toxic and GMO contaminants, and to be sure that they contain the right compounds to produce the best plants, and therefore the best essential oils.
Young Living doesn’t use chemical fertilizers or pesticides on their farms- they use plants! Plant material leftover after distillation is composted and used to fertilize the fields. The fields are weeded by hand. The care and dedication Young Living puts into the plants and farms is unmatched! This care includes a commitment to responsible and sustainable farming practices, including being free from chemicals. Young Living experts travel the world to ensure our partner farms continue to follow the high standards of quality at each farm.
The distillation process is perhaps the most crucial element of the essential oils process. The conditions (temperature, pressure, plants, etc.) have to be just right in order to achieve the appropriate amounts of chemical constituents. [Tip- think of constituents as the “active ingredients” in your essential oils!] Gary Young spent years and years learning all he could about the French art of essential oil distillation. The process used by Young Living is the best of both worlds- ancient technique plus modern innovation and technology.

Because Young Living never accepts adulterated, diluted, or “cut” essential oils, testing is an important step. The oils are tested in Young Living’s own labs, but also by third-party labs to make sure the oils being bottled have the right biochemical compounds. Don’t forget- Young Living’s products are made with a purpose, after all!
The essential oils are all bottled and labeled at Young Living’s Spanish Fork, Utah facility. Each batch of oils is tested again at this step to ensure the essential oils you receive are the same high quality essential oils that were produced, tested, and bottled. Your oils are then hand packed in this same facility before they take their journey to you!
A New Appreciation
Next time you open a new bottle of oil, take a moment as you inhale to reflect on and appreciate the process and care taken to bring that high-quality bottle to your door. Know that you are part of something amazing- take pride in it! Tell your friends when they ask about your oils. Tell your sister who thinks her eBay oils are okay to use. Seed to Seal is for all of us, and now that you’re familiar with it, embrace it.
